Blood Doping and the Games
Description
A serious issue in a number of sports, including some Olympic sports, is using drugs to gain unfair advantage. The 2012 Games will also feature the battle of wits between the 'cheats' and the 'testers' and this case study examines the nature of 'blood doping' in its autologous and homogolous forms, and the attempt to discourage it through the WADA regulations and the impact of the 'Athlete Biological Passport' Scheme
