"Studying at university is an exciting and challenging time for all students, but it can also bring with it concerns not least around the area of plagiarism." Anne O’Dwyer interviews Lindsay Williams, Senior Lecturer and lead Academic Conduct Officer (ACO), in the Business School at Oxford Brookes University, to discuss these concerns and help dispel any worries students may have regarding plagiarism. The interview contains useful tips, helpful information on the use of Turnitin and details the process followed should a breach of the regulations be thought to have been made. Parallel processes in clinical supervision: Implications for coaching mental health practitioners

This paper outlines the potential of parallel processes to enhance experiential learning opportunities in coaching for mental health practitioners. Traditional views of parallel processes in clinical supervision are examined in relation to how they can be applied to enhance coaching mental health practitioners. For example, parallel relationship patterns refer to repetitive interpersonal relationship patterns that are transferred from client interactions with mental health practitioners into the coaching sessions for these mental health practitioners. In addition, experiential learning strategies that utilize parallel process concepts might include the use of equivalent protocols for staff development coaching as are used by mental health practitioners in their work with clients experiencing mental health problems. Queer(y)ing LGBTQ+ Advertisements

Extant studies on LGTBQ+ advertising are theoretically and empirically narrow, with much of the literature congregating around commercial risk associated with targeting an LGBTQ+ audience without alienating a heterosexual one. In response, this thesis critically examines LGBTQ+ targeted print advertisements and mobilises insights from queer theory to challenge both normative scholarly assertions within the literature and associated (advocated) advertising practice. Adopting an interpretivist-queer position, this study identifies the types of LGBTQ+ advertising approaches discussed within the literature, consolidating these approaches as ‘passive’, ‘conscious’, ‘tailored’ and ‘integrative’. This forms the conceptual framework for this study, illustrated in the model ‘Targeted LGBTQ+ Advertising Approaches’. Evidence based nursing practice and continence care

The dissemination and implementation of research evidence upon which clinical practice should be based, pose many well-documented problems for nurses. The study reported here set out to identify some of the common barriers to the dissemination and utilisation of research findings and went on to explore what practising nurses believed would facilitate the use of research in one important aspect of clinical care: care of the incontinent patient. A series of small scale interrelated studies were undertaken using samples which comprised nursing staff involved in caring for the elderly, and patients in a community hospital. These studies allowed the identification of specific barriers to the use of research in practice and involved nurses in the development of appropriate strategies for applying research evidence on continence care within a clinical setting.
