Unit One Health

Overview

This unit is an example it illustrates some of the activities that would take place in the health promotion module. However it does not include group activities, which would be an integral part of the actual module. Nor does it include any reading which would be an expectation in the module. Timings are suggested for each activity. It will begin by defining health and exploring the links to factors that affect health and relating these to practice.

After completing this unit, you will be better able to:

• Define health
• Demonstrate understanding of the role of health in the practice of health promotion
