Course aims

This short course aims to:

Foster your interest in teaching international students
Interrogate your approaches to teaching international students
Share good practice in teaching international students
Introduce key literature and resources for teaching international students

Intended learning outcomes

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

Evaluate the impact of students' previous academic experiences on their transition to higher education
Identify common issues needing particular attention amongst the students you teach
Consider the importance of language and language capability in students’ learning experiences
Adopt approaches to encourage students' engagement and participation in HE learning (including group work and with assessment)
