How is the practice of social work meeting these needs in the UK?
What approaches are employed by other countries and are they effective?
How could social work practice in the UK be improved to meet these needs?

Future Research: 1) Current research lacks power to distinguish between symptoms occurring due to pre, trafficking, or post-trafficking factors 2) Further research required regarding the efficacy of interventions
Social Work: 1) Needs should be addressed according to a specified hierarchy 2) Mental health assessments should be included in needs assessments as standard 3) Interventions should be: a) person-centred b) trauma-informed & c) culturally sensitive 4) Greater synergy is required between voluntary/charitable, statutory and health care organisations to facilitate quality support
