East case study

Although the student started their project well, you are concerned that they are stalling. You quickly agreed a research question and protocol based on an issue which is highly relevant to the student and the context in which they live and work. You know this project means a lot to them personally. The data has been collected and now you can feel that they are losing momentum.

Time is pressing on and you are concerned about the difficulties they are having in analyzing and interpreting the data. You have been working mainly by email so far and you have not had any communication difficulties. However, now you wish you had the student by your side so you could pore over the data together and discuss what it might mean.

What should you do?
