Sound Diaries was set up in 2008 by Felicity Ford and Paul Whitty and is a research project of the SARU at Oxford Brookes University. The project launched with a Sonic Advent Calendar on its blog in December 2008, and previous projects include many field recordings made in various different contexts, including whilst on holiday; in the kitchen at home each night; and along a 200 mile walking route designed by Mark Stanley to coincide with the London 2012 Olympic Games. The RADAR archive for Sound Diaries contains a few examples of previous projects, but will be expanded in due course. Sound Diaries is dedicated to recording everyday life in sound.
This recording was made without audio normalisation - this can provide a 'closer' listening experience when heard through headphones
