Legal aid in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts: Assessment of the accessibility of the free legal aid provision system in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts

Abstract

The report contains the findings of a study aimed at assessing the accessibility of Ukraine’s free legal aid system in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. The study focuses on examining the provision of legal aid to all citizens who require it, as well as the quality of the legal aid provided, by both staff of the correspondent institutions and contracted private lawyers. In addition, the study examined the adaptability of the system to new challenges, and provided a set of recommendations for the further development of the legal aid system in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.
