Activity

This week you should begin thinking about your virtual conference presentation. You will be signing up to a peer review group to present and discuss your contribution to the conference.

Week one you did an activity using Google docs as a large group

Week two you did the individual part of the reflective statement: you wrote and maybe shared a professional reflective statement about your teaching practice.

In week 3 we will use the Moodle Workshop tool tp comment on another participant's initial reflection.

The rest of Week 3's activity id focussed on the discussion forums. We want to develop and explore explanatory frameworks that might inform and bolster your practice. A theory is simply an explanation: an answer to the question, "Why?" In this course we are interested in why people learn, and how people learn so that we can help that process along, largely within institutions of (mostly higher) education.

Task

Think of a session you have run, a tutorial, a workshop, a talk, a learning activity you have had a hand in facilitating. Now think of the participants. Can you explain, using the terms introduced in the previous section:

Or, other words of your own. Or, words from other literature (properly referenced) why the people on your course learned what they learned? Was it the assessment? Was it the great content? Was it the activities? Was it your slides?

We have asked what is learning? We have asked what's the benreits and drawbacks of three modes of learning? The main discussion, now, is why does learning happen in your place? Please turn to the discussion forum. When you've posted your thoughts to the discussion board, click the completion box on the main course page to claim your badge.

And continue to build the collaborative annotated bibliography.
