Oxford Brookes Business School PhDs gain international recognition

22/09/2017

Oxford Brookes Business School has successfully gained membership to the EDAMBA (European Doctoral Association in Management and Business Administration) for our PhDs and Doctor of Coaching and Mentoring (DCaM) programmes. We join notable Business Schools in the UK and in 26 countries, mostly from Europe. Fellow members from the UK include Aston, Cardiff, Durham, Lancaster, York and Sussex.

Prof Simonetta Manfredi, Associate Dean for Research and Knowledge Exchange said: “I am delighted that our application has been successful, it truly reflects the high quality of our programmes. This membership will have numerous benefits to the Business School and its doctoral students”.

The colleagues from EDAMBA who came to assess the programmes, as part of a three stage evaluation process, reported ‘a good fit between the actual projects of the doctoral students and the competencies of the faculty'. Moreover, the doctoral theses reviewed were judged to be of 'high quality and innovativeness'.

International recognition gained as a result of our application is a true testament to the fantastic work that has been undertaken over the years by Dr David Bowen, Head of the Doctoral Programmes, Dr Nicoletta Occhiocupo, who has played a major role in the application, Chris Spurgeon, Programme Administrator and of course all supervisors and doctoral students past and present.

Dr David Bowen says: “This membership is a really worthwhile opportunity for Oxford Brookes Business School and students and supervisors can now look forward to interacting with EDAMBA’s programme of events and activities”.
