This study explores the impact of role stressors on psychological resilience among employees in startup technology companies in Chennai. With the rapid growth of the Indian startup ecosystem, employees often face challenges such as role conflict, role ambiguity, and role overload, contributing to increased job stress. Utilizing a qualitative research approach, semi-structured interviews were conducted with eight employees from various startup tech companies to identify key stressors and examine how they influence psychological resilience. The findings reveal that role conflict and overload are prevalent stressors, particularly for those in leadership and highly specialized roles, often resulting in emotional exhaustion and burnout. However, employees who employ effective coping mechanisms, such as task prioritization, delegation, and mindfulness practices, demonstrate enhanced resilience. The study highlights the importance of organizational support systems and psychological resilience strategies to mitigate the adverse effects of job stress in fast-paced, dynamic work environments. These findings offer valuable insights for Human Resource Management in developing interventions aimed at promoting resilience and improving employee well-being in the startup sector.
