A pre-Games issue is the stance being taken by the BOC and WADA to prevent banned athletes from taking part in Olympics Games and how it has been challenged by the Court for Arbitration for Sport and the US. The case of Lashawn Merritt, the US athlete is contrasted with the UK cases of Dwain Chambers, David Millar and Carl Myerscough
