Use in student module evaluation to ‘test the temperature’ of student learning in your class. Put the drawing on a powerpoint slide or photocopy and distribute it to the students. Invite students to identify which one of the sailors represents how they feel about their learning in the module. Ask them to discuss with a partner why they have chosen their selected sailor. Then invite feedback from the whole group about how students are feeling about their learning. Encourage them to discuss which, if any, concepts in the module they are finding difficult and what would help them to become more confident in their learning.
