Bamboo bike project team interviewed by the BBC

Dr James Broughton tells the BBC why he decided to make a bike out of bamboo.

Dr James Broughton tells the BBC why he decided to join the bamboo bike project which was initiated and developed by Dr Shpend Gerguri. They were helped on the project by engineering students who created the prototypes.

It is the first UK-built mountain bike made out of bamboo and was launched at the Cycle Show 2011. Dr Broughton explains that the natural material is as strong as steel but more comfortable on long rides
