Entrepreneurship and corporate social responsibility: a case study of SMEs in Oxfordshire

Abstract

This research aims to understand the relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Entrepreneurship by focusing on Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). The research employs a case-study approach which focuses on SMEs in Oxfordshire. This businesses were referred by the Federation of Small businesses; a credible supporter of small businesses in the UK. The small businesses used for the case-study are from different sectors in order to get a well-rounded view for the purpose of the research. The small businesses also included both micro and small businesses; to get a balanced view on the attitudes of SMEs to CSR. The small businesses participating in this research all indicated an interest to contribute to the society and be responsible.
