Workshop on secrecy in organisations

03/07/2018

On 2nd and 3rd July Dr Ioanna Iordanou organised and convened a two day interdisciplinary workshop on Secrecy in Organisations.

The workshop was co-convened by Professor Chris Grey (Royal Holloway University of London), the world’s leading expert on Organisation Secrecy, and hosted keynote speeches and talks by eminent scholars who study Organisational Secrecy in a variety of disciplines, including Organisation Studies, National Security, Sports, Cultural and Literary Studies. The keynote speakers were Professor Richard Aldrich and Dr Christopher Moran (Warwick), Dr Margaret Hillenbrand (Oxford), and Professor Robert Eaglestone (Royal Holloway). Workshop participants came from Britain, Belgium, France, and Germany. As part of the workshop outcomes, participants decided the organisation of a series of future events in their efforts to develop the emerging field of Organisational Secrecy (funding options are currently explored) and to proceed to a publication of an edited volume on the subject. The workshop was co-funded by the British Academy and Leverhulme Trust (as a result of Small Research Grant held by Iordanou) and Oxford Brookes Business School.
