Session for BA Primary Teacher Education Year 1, Introductioin to Educational Research. Interactive session with mini-group discussions, exercises and hands-on searching practice.
Used with handouts of 3 sources on same topic (whether fish oil supplements can boost brain power) - peer reviewed journal article, newspaper article, and blog - and a scoring chart to rate each against length, ease of reading, detail, evidence base, bias. Also with a 2-minute reflective evaluation slip at end of session.
