The taxonomy builds on an initial set of attributes documented in the Mapping of Graduate Attributes paper (Benfield and Francis 2008) and has in various drafts been discussed at eL@B meetings and by various School Academic Boards and Programme Design Teams. This version (version 3) includes information literacy attributes after review by Jan Haines and Hazel Rothera (Library). The taxonomy is based on an adaptation of the SCONUL Seven Pillars of Information Literacy model.
A resource for staff in designing their programmes to include development of digital and information literacies. The taxonomy is not prescriptive, exhaustive or mandatory. It is offered as a starting point for Schools and programme teams to audit current practice and determine aspirations.
