Students and staff don their red noses for what was only the second Red Nose Day for Comic Relief.

As is always the case the university looks to find suitable rooms for students. In 1989 these students enjoyed very good accommodation out at Heyford Hill. The only issue was they need their own transport so most were mature students.

Graham Gibbs was head of the Educational Methods Unit and established a course for new teaching staff at the Polytechnic. He later went on to set up the Oxford Centre for Staff and Learning Development (OCSLD), still a part of Brookes in 2012.
